AUGUST 30, 2013 (Friday)

All about cleaning, packing, laundry, going through things, and getting the studio ready to rent or AirBnb. It is such a cute little place. I know I could easily live here but it’s a tight fit for two people. Very small. New York City small.

Lexi and I went into Salinas, California to do some shopping. I was hoping to return the tent because we won’t be needing it here. Michael and I are sleeping in the studio and Lexi is sleeping at her friend’s house. The double bed is small but it’s fine for the two of us. Anyway, we got some cleaning supplies, some towels, bedding, etc. Had fun with my daughter. While we did this, Michael took a load of garbage to the dump.

The roofing crew showed up around noon to begin tearing the roof off our house and installing a new one.

Old roof off, paper going down.

Took one and one-half days to complete.

Around 6 PM, we walked over to our neighbors place – Bill and Michelle. Bill is our property manager. He had invited us to dinner a week or so ago and he always makes a wonderful meal. It’s fun to catch up and find out what’s going on with their families and their lives. Bill and Michelle had made a wonderful salmon filled with crab and shrimp dinner. He had also made a tomato, cucumber, artichoke salad that was amazing. He always has wonderful wines as he’s really into wines and knows what to pair with what. I was bummed because my head was thumping and wanted to get home to bed so the evening was cut short but it was really nice. They’re great people and we enjoy visiting with them.

I went home and was snoring by 8:30 PM. Michael stayed up and watched TV. He laughed and said he was stressed by trying to walk the fine line of being able to hear the television over my snoring without waking me up. He did a great job because I was out of it.

That was our day. Hope yours was great!
