Got up and had a nice breakfast at the Ramada Inn. They had all sorts of things – hot eggs, warm danish, bacon, toast, muffins, cereal, yogurt, fruit, orange juice, tea, coffee, hot chocolate – nice. Left around 9 AM and we were in Santa Clara, California by 11 AM. We only stopped once for gas.

Had a lovely visit with our son, Aaron, and his girlfriend, Arla, and our grandpuppies – Merlin and Reku.

After our visit we went to IKEA to look at futons. We are wanting a small sofa/bed to go into the studio. We are thinking about doing AirBnB with the studio. Still deciding and thinking about it. We’ll see what happens.

Traffic was horrible when we left IKEA  (around 4:30 PM). We didn’t get into Prunedale, California until 6:30 PM. About the same time we got to our daughter’s place, she showed up and Lexi (our daughter), her friend Jennifer, and Michael and I headed over to Moss Landing, California to Phil’s Fish Market. It is one of our favorite places around here. We normally get the blackened swordfish and split it, but this time Michael wanted to get the fish and chips and see if they were better than Finest at Sea. I was glad I stuck to my favorite from Phil’s, the swordfish, because the fish and chips were not as good at Finest at Sea.

Open seating with a band, crowded on a Thursday night. We used to have the place to ourselves, then he was on a TV show and it has been all down hill after that, damn tourist. They come by the bus load now.

I am in line waiting to get to the counter to order. Once you order they give a number placard to put on your table. Feel like a vulture lurking around waiting for people to finish eating and the claim the dirty table for my family.

I got an order of Fish and Chips, halibut, to compare to Finest At Sea in Victoria. Finest at sea won.

Our daughter, Alexis, aka: mini-me, had the same as her Mom except rice instead of fries.

Our daughter stayed with Jennifer and we decided not to tent camp and stayed in the studio apartment.

After dinner, we were done – totally tired. Did some laundry and crawled into bed. That was our day. Hope yours was exceptional!
