August 25, 2013 (Sunday)

It is departure eve, a day of packing, loading car, and cleaning of the apartment.  We are reflecting how much we need to downsize as we gather everything together and stuff it into the Prius.  We catch the 10:30 AM Ferry, 2 1/2 hours to Port Angeles, then a 5 hour drive to Brother John’s place.  We plan to tour Olympia a little as we go through.  A two day visit with family and then back to California to see our son, pickup our daughter (who will be joining us on the adventure), and put a new roof  on the house.  We plan to be done and back on the road, hopefully, by September 5th.

We will miss the island and all the kind people here.  We will miss the abundance of nature that you Canadians are so blessed with here.
