Butchart Gardens – Victoria, BC, Canada 7/30/2013

JULY 30, 2013 (Tuesday)

Today was all about Butchart Gardens. We got there around 1 PM and walked, looked, and took pictures of everything we could.

We debated whether we should get an annual pass and decided against it.

We do love Butchart Gardens but it was so crowded we didn’t like the thought of fighting the crowds again, even as lovely as it is. We saw more than we saw when we were here a few years ago on a cruise excursion.

After Butchart, we took a lovely drive back through Cordova Bay and another large park area called Mt Douglas. Lovely. I could live here. I wonder what it’s like during the winter.

We got back and our deer friend from yesterday was here. We were afraid it had brought it’s attorney to file charges. Turns out it was just hungry and was eating the vegetable plants on the side yard. Fun.

Edie is convinced that this is the deer that yesterday tried to commit suicide by jumping out of the bushes onto the side of our car. She thinks it is sauntering with a limp!

We’re talking about and planning a far North trip to Port Hardy. I’m excited. I’m hopeful we’ll get to see bear and eagles. For dinner it’s all about one of the salads we got at Costco on Sunday.

Hope your day was great!

  1. Thanks Tina. We are starting to struggle with a camera issue right now. Think we will upgrade soon.
