JULY 26, 2013 (Friday)
Said goodbye to brother John around 10 AM and hit the road. Weather today was beautiful.

Once we left Keizer, it felt like the world was out to get us. I wasn’t sure how long it would take to get to Port Angeles, so I was kinda stressed anyway. While driving, I took the wrong exit in Portland and it took about half an hour to get back on track. There was an accident on Highway 101, and when we were in line to get on the ferry to Victoria, the car in front of us would not start. They had to push it out of the way and we then went around and got on the Ferry.
Once we exited Highway 5 and headed toward 101, it was so beautiful. I almost went on sensory overload from all the gorgeousness.
T-Bird! Fun on the road.
The first of many gorgeous views of sky, water, shoreline and forest prime-evil.
Edie say’s she got sensory overload from all the beauty.
Nice Chevron with a nice market and delicious deli.
Michael’s neck is still not well so he could not enjoy it as much as he would have liked. We’re both looking forward to exploring it more when we head back in a month. Also, Forks (from the Twilight series) is just 70 miles or so down 101 in Washington.
Entrance to the Black Ball Ferry dock.
I think this crab was dead in the water.
Flags over the dock
Pretty woman waiting to get on the Ferry.
Driving into the belly of the beast.
Coming to our parking spot. Edie was lucky, she could get out on the driver’s side. Most didn’t have an opening and had to crawl out the passenger side.
I put my 13 EE’s in the photo to give perspective. These were really big ropes.
Leaving the US, headed to Canada
From the deck but it was windy and cool.
The ferry ride was fun. Victoria, downtown near the ferry terminal, was very crowded. Michael and I are hoping it’s because three cruise ships are in town and once they leave, the crowds will leave too.
Customs, “How long here? Camping? Retired? Weapons? Mace or Pepper Spray? Fruits or Vegetables?” Pretty easy
If it is within our budget we are going on the Hippo Bus. It goes in the water.
Double Decker buses everywhere.
Capitol Building and Totem Pole. We plan to tour here too.
We will tour and properly describe what this is.
High Tea at the Empress Hotel is on our bucket list.
Edie want’s a ride. I am happy to watch them go by.
We found our new “home.” It’s lovely. Very large, clean, and comfortable. It will be very fun for our time here. It’s in a very quiet area near the college.
The front yard to our Airbnb place.
Pretty woman getting the key to our apartment.

Nice kitchen, well stocked.

Tired, gonna hit the shower and then bed. Hope your day was great!
