Salem, Oregon to Victoria, B.C. 7/26/2013
JULY 26, 2013 (Friday)
Said goodbye to brother John around 10 AM and hit the road. Weather today was beautiful.
Once we left Keizer, it felt like the world was out to get us. I wasn’t sure how long it would take to get to Port Angeles, so I was kinda stressed anyway. While driving, I took the wrong exit in Portland and it took about half an hour to get back on track. There was an accident on Highway 101, and when we were in line to get on the ferry to Victoria, the car in front of us would not start. They had to push it out of the way and we then went around and got on the Ferry.
Once we exited Highway 5 and headed toward 101, it was so beautiful. I almost went on sensory overload from all the gorgeousness.
Michael’s neck is still not well so he could not enjoy it as much as he would have liked. We’re both looking forward to exploring it more when we head back in a month. Also, Forks (from the Twilight series) is just 70 miles or so down 101 in Washington.
The ferry ride was fun. Victoria, downtown near the ferry terminal, was very crowded. Michael and I are hoping it’s because three cruise ships are in town and once they leave, the crowds will leave too.
We found our new “home.” It’s lovely. Very large, clean, and comfortable. It will be very fun for our time here. It’s in a very quiet area near the college.
Tired, gonna hit the shower and then bed. Hope your day was great!
