Lodi, California 7/20/2013

JULY 20, 2013 (Saturday)

We got up and Michael and I had a “date.” Maureen suggested two or three different places but “The Dancing Fox,” sounded like fun so we headed that way. It’s a fun little place on a lovely street near downtown Lodi. We sat outside and watched the world go by, along with many fun, old cars.

We also watched beautiful food go by (for the next visit – bread pudding). Michael ordered some kind of oatmeal thing, and I ordered a fruit parfait with granola. Excellent. Portions were very generous.  We had just taken our napkins down from our lips after the last bite when we realized we had done it again, ate without photographing.  Sorry.

After that we headed back to Don and Maureen’s house. Maureen wanted to go see one of her grandson’s soccer games and we said we’d be back in time to be with Don. Don didn’t feel like going. Maureen also wanted to run some errands after the game.

When Maureen did get home, she said the game was fun and her grandson got one good kick in. She came home with tons more groceries and started fixing dinner. She made the most delicious shrimp with sauce and rice dish. She also had kale. More than excellent. She is such a good cook. I try hard but she makes it look so easy. After dinner we watched Doc Martin (love that show) and MI5. MI5 is a little bit bloody for me but it was good.

We received an email from our AirBnB place in Victoria, BC, Canada. She asked if we could come a day early because she needs to be out of town. We’re trying to figure it out tonight as far as ferry reservations, family visits, etc.

That was our day. Hope yours was good.
