Reno, Nevada to Lodi, California 7/13/2013

JULY 13, 2013 (Saturday)

Another fun day. We got up early and packed because we were too tired to do it last night. We left our Reno “home” around 9 AM and headed for Susanville. I was sad to leave our wonderful little “home” but anxious to get moving again. We had been there two weeks so it was time.

We wanted to go through Susanville and on to Red Bluff. We were hoping to see the wild horses in a meadow Michael had seen years before when he worked at the prison in Susanville (Child’s Meadow). No luck. We did get to go into Lassen National Park a little ways and get a feel for it. We know we want to go back and see more one day soon.  Also, got to use the Senior Pass and saved $10.00.  Love that.

After we left the park, we headed for Red Bluff. Beautiful scenery as we drove the many hours. Loved the views and the smells of the pine trees. We kept the windows down for awhile to get our fill.

Lake Almanor, pretty full, or at least appears to have plenty of water.

We were hoping to eat lunch in Red Bluff at one of my favorites, In N Out Burger, but they didn’t have one that we could find. We then headed south on I-5 looking for one. We drove through Orland, Willows, Maxwell, and finally got so hungry we settled for a Burger King in Williams. Not really worth it but we were so hungry by then we would have eaten our arms off if we didn’t get something in our stomach.

After lunch we drove on in to Lodi, where we will be spending the next eight days. We are here with friends, Don and Mo. Mo has an opportunity to get away for a week but Don needs someone around to help him just in case. We’re glad we can help our friends out and that we were in the area.

We hope your day was great!
