Truckee River Rafting – Nevada 7/12/2013

JULY 12, 2013 (Friday)

Today was fun! We started out pretty early and left for Tahoe City. We had scheduled a raft trip down the Truckee River. Also, my sister and brother-in-law are hosting a family reunion (husband’s side) and we were invited for dinner. We wanted to go to the store and get a few things to take to the cabin they had rented before our rafting trip. We managed, but barely, because the traffic was horrible.

The rafting trip was awesome. It was so nice to just float down in the raft and not be getting hit in the butt by rocks. I loved the tubing, but this was so much more fun and carefree. There were a few exciting spots, we did get stuck a couple of times, and Michael lost his hat once and I had to rescue it, but it was just so much more fun. The day was perfect, the water wasn’t too cold, and the weather was just the right temperature. The one thing I would change, if I could, was that there wouldn’t be so many people on the river.

As we floated down the river, we noticed how clean and nice the water was. Also, we had bought some duck food (dog food) and what fun that was. I don’t know how they know you have it, but they do and they follow you for quite awhile until they know they have it all. Too fun. Also, saw babies with their mom. The food was a little too big for them and I was worried but they managed to swallow all that was given.

Such a nice day with such nice ducks.

After our rafting adventure, we went to the cabin and had a lovely visit with people I hadn’t seen in years. So nice to see kids I used to babysit and know as young ones all grown up with children of their own. Nice to catch up. Also, had a wonderful dinner with everyone.

We are now back in our “home” for the last night. Gonna miss it here. I feel right in the heart of the city with so much to see and do. We’ll definitely want to come back here, especially for Artown activities.

Hope your day was fun!

  1. The rafting looks like fun! So, what happens now you stop until September I don’t see the next resort on your itinerary? Hope you are still timesharing this summer.

  2. Dear ciscogizmo1:
Yes, it was great fun. Really nice in a raft compared to a tube. We are on a mission this next week and will blog about it. We will update our itinerary as well. Thanks,
    Mike
