Wing Fest – Reno, Nevada 7/6/2013

JULY 6, 2013 (Saturday)

Kind of a lazy day for us. I did laundry in the morning ($1.50 to wash, 3 washers, and $1.00 to dry, 3 dryers) and then we walked over to the Wing Fest. We were surprised at what a pleasant and short walk it is over there. Lots and lots of people, food, booths, music. Also discovered that on one side of a casino (not positive which casino) was a huge rock climbing wall. Impressive. And people were climbing. It was the highest one I’ve seen.

Climber, and it is a hot day. We think she was sweating.

Back to the Wing Fest. We walked the whole length and looked at all the booths, checked out (but didn’t eat) the food booths, and enjoyed the music. It was very hot out so I got a berry smoothie from one of the booths.

Oh goodie, crowds.

This line was at least 4 times longer than what I got in the photo. Very popular wings.

Picture does not do justice. The butterfly really mimics the flight of a butterfly. The green disc rotates and is on a shaft that also rotates resulting in flapping butterfly wings and a slightly erratic flight path. We were both mesmerized by these. 2 for $19.99

Edie and I like these 3D holographic crystal images. You can give them a photograph and they will create one out of your photo. Very nice and fairly reasonable.

Good idea for two little ones. Edie asked if they were twins.

Got back to our “home” and that’s been it. We’re sitting here listening to all the music going on at Wingfield Park. It will go on until 10 PM tonight. We’re also thinking about going to the pool. We’ll let you know tomorrow.

Hope your day was awesome!
