White House Down – Reno, Nevada 7/2/2013

JULY 2, 2013 (Tuesday)

What a fun day we had. We are not morning people so everything starts after nine. We left and went to the UPS store to get the license plate holder that we had ordered last week when we sent in the paperwork for our Worldmark. The license plate holder is chrome and says www.fulltimetimeshare.com. It turned out nice. (Pictures to come later.)

After that I pressured Michael to taking me to Barnes and Noble. I am wanting to find a small book of maps of Europe so we know distances and where we’re heading when it’s time to start booking these. Didn’t really find anything that is easy to take with us. Will keep looking. After that we went to lunch at KFC.

After lunch we went back to our room and took a nice dip in the pool. I ventured to the hot tub but burned my feet just getting into the hot tub. Not to mention it was like 100 degrees today. So I hurried back to the cool indoor pool to be with the smart one, Michael.

We left the room about 3 PM and took a little walk around the neighborhood. So much to see and do here. Loving it so far. Saw some beautiful waterfalls on river walk.

We stopped in a little adventure shop and signed up for a 2 ½ hour innertube trip down the Truckee River on Friday. Then we went to the movies.

Movies.
Movies.

We saw “White House Down.” We both really enjoyed it. Was quite suspenseful. (Michael got in for senior price of $6.50, and I cost the matinee price of $7.00.) The movie was more exciting and better than I was expecting. Don’t understand why it’s not getting real good reviews. We both enthusiastically give it two thumbs up.

After the movies we went to a place around the corner from the movie theater called The Chocolate Bar: http://thechocbar.com/. What a great place. I’m already looking forward to going back. It was still happy hour so Michael had a $6.00 German chocolate martini and I had a $6.00 turtle martini. We split an order of garlic fries (half off, only $3.00), which came in a huge bowl and enough for four people to enjoy. Really good.

We left and while walking we were debating whether to go to the dancers at Wingfield Park or go to the Methodist Church on the corner and listen to the jazz/folk singers called Shilo. We decided on the church. Great choice. What fun and how good they were, not to mention a beautiful facility.

"Shilo", excellent performers. Some folk, some gospel, we got to sing along, lots of fun.

Looking forward to more music there. Later, we got to enjoy the dancers from our room doing a routine to “Dancing in the Rain”, like Gene Kelley, with umbrella’s and a little rain.

Fun day and looking to many more. Hope yours was just as fun!

  1. Thank you Bonnie, we are having a good time. And thank you for the other feedback. We are new and clunky and I will work to educate myself on how to correct the search and navigation issues you kindly pointed out to us.
