Reno, Nevada 6/30/2013

JUNE 30, 2013 (Sunday)

Slept in and then Michael went down to the 7th floor to get us some coffee. They always have hot beverages and water available there.

After a while of lounging around, we went for a drive. We drove up into the hills. Lovely views.

We then went to a Safeway shopping center and had lunch at a Chinese/Taiwanese restaurant. Really good food, but different from what we’re used to. I had lemon chicken. I’m used to it being almost like a lemon pie. This was just a really good lemon chicken with a not so sweet lemon sauce. Michael had his usual war won ton soup and fried rice. He said it was good.

After lunch we went grocery shopping and got just a few things for our coffee in the morning, and a few other items. There is no full kitchen here so we’re mostly eating out for these coming two weeks. Came back to the room and asked for a kitchen pack. It’s a large tub they deliver to your room here. They don’t charge for it but you have to sign for it. It has the kitchen towels, plates, utensils, etc. that you need to eat in your room.

In our room we just lazed around until it was time for the wine and cheese get together. We found out it was sponsored by Timeshare Liquidators. What a nice couple who hosted – full of information of things going on and things to see and do. She asked everyone around the room who they were and what they were doing here. Was surprised at all the happenings here in Reno – ballroom dancing, bowling, volleyball, and chicken wing cook-off type thing going on over the 4th of July. Was fun. Afterwards we stayed and talked to a couple from Santa Rosa, artists, who are here for Artown. Was fun getting to know them a little.

Beautiful antiques everywhere in this resort, even saw one that is very similar to one we own.

Curved glass, custom mirror. Very nice, very similar to one we own.
