Lake Lahontan State Park – Nevada 6/25/2013

JUNE 25, 2013 (Tuesday)

Usual lazy morning but it got exciting when Michael finally got the paperwork we’ve been waiting for in order to almost finalize our Worldmark purchase. We had to find a notary, go there, figure out a place to email the paperwork to the notary (ended up sitting in the car in front of the bar in order to get on the internet). Anyway, it all worked out and we got the paperwork mailed on our end. Shouldn’t be that much longer and we’ll be Worldmark owners – which opens up more doors for us for II and RCI. We’re excited.

We have been waiting on paperwork to buy a Worldmark Time Share, finally got it and UPS performed the Notary for us.

After this we headed to Lake Lahontan State Park, about an hour from our “home.”

My sister and brother-in-law are camping there in their beautiful motorhome. That was another adventure just trying to find them. We thought we were going to get buried in all the sand a couple of times. Trying to maneuver sand dunes in a Prius is something you don’t want to do that often.

After entering the park we drove at least 5 miles to find them, had to call for directions, last 2 miles were gravel and dirt. The prius was not happy. We plowed sand in a few spots.

Usually my sister and brother-in-law are out playing in the water but the sand was blowing so hard they were ducking and covering in their motorhome. Was nice to sit and visit. We got a real nice (but short) visit in with them. We’re here for almost three weeks so we’re hopeful we’ll get a few more visits in before we leave.

They were watching TV off their antenna, usually they are outside but the wind had them confined to quarters.

White Pelicans. Sorry we didn't get a picture of them in flight, they have a beautiful black stripe on their wings. Gorgeous birds.

Driving out, the pathway was so sandy and deep in some places, went about a mile on just sand.

We headed home.

Returning to Sparks ran into a little rain cell. Nice to see.

We ate our leftover pasta and chicken from last night. Yummy. That’s our day. Hope yours was great!
