Car Museum – Reno, Nevada 6/24/2013

JUNE 24, 2013 (Monday)

Happy Birthday Michelle!

Breakfast, coffee, computer time, tv, then we got ready to go to the Car Museum. It has recently been named one of the five best. It was very interesting. Brought back memories. It was fun to see some of the really old cars and some of the ones we drove and had. There was one vehicle where you could “dress up” (they had hats and things to put on) and then take a picture. I liked the museum, and I wasn’t expecting that. I know Michael really enjoyed it because he took my camera and was snapping away. He took me back to a Cadillac and told me a story about his Uncle Buddy having one and how cool it was. The museum was $10 for under 62, and $8 for 62 and over.  (Mike here, I apologize for how many pictures I have included, but in my defense, I left lots more out.)

My personal favorite of the show. I want it. I would not drive it. I just want it. I wouldn't know what to do with it, except it must be seen. Oh, I see why folks give such things to museums.

After the car museum, we went to the Western Village Casino. We were looking for a nice but inexpensive place to eat. As soon as we hit the door we knew it wasn’t the place for us as it reeked of smoke. Michael went back outside and I spent my $5 gambling money. Took about two minutes and I was back with Michael.

We then went to Ross to return some shorts I bought but were the wrong size. We’ve been carrying them around on the floor of the car since Las Vegas so we needed to return them. There was a Wendy’s real close to the Ross, so we decided on that, did the drive-thru, and each got a salad. Was really good.

We are now back in our “home”, our tummies full, but looking forward to making the pasta dish tonight for dinner. I’ve prepped most of the veggies that go into it. Michael will do the chicken part. Hope it turns out as good as George’s. I guess I should wait until at least 5:00 PM to open the wine – maybe.

(She waited and we made a wonderful dinner)
