Visalia, CA to Rocklin, CA 6/21/2013

JUNE 21, 2013 ( Friday)

Up early again, 6:30 AM. Hey, we’re retired and not liking having to get up so darn early. Oh well, necessary so I can get my retirement papers filed. We left when Mary left for work, at around 7:00 AM. We were in Fresno before 8:00 AM, papers turned in and we were having a celebratory breakfast at Denny’s by 9:30 AM.

After breakfast we were heading out but I saw a Kohl’s Department Store. I’m still searching for “the blouse” that I fell in love with in Las Vegas. Told Michael we would continue to search all the Kohl’s on the way up to Reno. We stopped at the Fresno Kohl’s and got lucky and found my blouse. Good day – retired and found my size (finally). Michael is relieved that we don’t have to go on the hunt anymore.

We decided to stop in Galt to take pictures of the houses we lived in when our kids were little, and the school they went to. Boy the town sure has grown. Got lost trying to find our old street. We loved living in Galt, such a nice little place with great people.

After Galt we headed on in to Sacramento to our hotel. Wanted to call my friends who live close but I’m afraid to interfere because she had told me her daughter and two grandsons were coming for a couple of weeks in June. Will catch them on the next trip. Want them to enjoy all the time they can with family.

Once we got into our room (Priceline for $45 plus tax- Courtyard by Marriott), we did a little work, reading, relaxing, then we walked over to a place called “Slice” and had dinner and then walked back. We’re in for the night and gonna sleep in tomorrow. Looking forward to that.

Hope your day was great!
