The Cliffs – Snowbird, Utah 5/30/2013

MAY 30, 2013 (Thursday)

Brother Paul’s birthday today.

Had a very severe thunder and lightning storm last night. Don’t like those but…I guess they are necessary.  Slept in nicely and got up in time to rush to water aerobics. We had fun and told jokes and talked while exercising through the whole class. Afterwards we soaked in the hot tub for awhile. We went back to our room and had lunch (leftover chicken and rice from last night).  We watched TV, played games on the computer, read, and just relaxed for awhile.

Around 4:30 PM, we started walking over to The Cliff’s to their restaurant on the 10th floor, The Aerie.

"The Cliff" is located up the hill a nice walk from our Iron Blosam Lodge.

We walked down past the Snowbird Center. Was surprised at how many yellow bellied marmots were out sunning and eating.

We finally found our way to the restaurant (take the east elevator). Lovely. Asian themed. We were told by the manager that the owner had climbed the highest mountains on all seven continents and he brought back the Asian influence to his building.

Mr. Bass, the owner climbed the highest mountains on all 7 continents. Brought this back from China.

Had some wonderful appetizers that were half off.

We splurged. We don’t normally spend so much but it was so lovely and we were really enjoying just sitting on the 10th floor and looking out over all the beautiful scenery.

We walked back to our room and at this point we’re debating whether to go to the hot tub/pool or not. Michael still wants to challenge me to a game of ping pong but….I’m stalling him.
