Squaw Valley, CA to South Lake Tahoe, CA 4/28/2013

April 28, 2013 (Sunday)

Moving day!  Checkout was quick and painless. We did have to pay a $35.00 resort fee for a daily newspaper, internet, and parking (I think). Anyway, we loved the resort and definitely want to come back.

MISC. The housekeeping staff did a great job. The room was cleaned three times while we were there. During certain times of the year they have hammocks and bikes. These were not available during our visit. You could tell they were getting the resort grounds ready for the summer rush.

We took the long way around the lake. We stopped in South Lake Tahoe outskirts to do our laundry and do a little shopping. We had been told the resort we were going to didn’t have kitchen facilities so we knew we would most likely be eating out most meals.   We got to Tahoe Seasons around 1:00 PM. The only parking available is valet parking, which is complimentary. We knew check-in wasn’t supposed to be until 4:00 PM but we figured they could always say come back. They were very friendly and said there was a room available.

Our room was on the main floor, even though the number started with 5. It was different in that you had to go around a corner, and then around another corner to get to the hall where our room was.  When we opened the door we were in the living room, which had a hide-a-bed couch and coffee table, flat screen television, the usual.  There was a slight step up (BE CAREFUL) into the “bathroom area.”  The bathtub was a huge (could easily accommodate six people) jacuzzi tub with a shower head in the corner. The bathroom area was very large. Then there was a slight step down into the kitchen/bedroom. There was a table that had two chairs on one side and then a bench on the other side. The kitchen area was just a little sink, microwave, and very small refrigerator. Not very convenient or useful. There was a large queen bed and fireplace, along with a television on a chest of drawers. The giant tub had plantation shutters on both sides that opened to the bedroom/kitchen and the living room. They accordioned open and closed. When we showered it felt like we were in an open shower area.

The room was clean and lovely appearing but very different. If you have any serious mobility issues, this is not the room for you.

The valet helped us get our things into the room and explained how the heater and fireplace worked.

The rest of the day was just a lazy day for us. We used the jacuzzi tub but it took about a half hour to fill it up.
